Check-Raise
A check-raise is a strategic move in poker which is made up of two actions: first, the player checks, allowing their opponents to place a bet, and then, when one of their opponents actually bets, the player raises.
This is how it works:
Player A checks.
Player B places a bet.
Player A raises.
A check-raise is a powerful move which can be used for various reasons, such as:
Catching a bluff: If a player senses that an opponent may be bluffing, they can use a check-raise to force their opponent to fold.
Increasing the pot: If a customer has a strong hand, they can use a check-raise to increase the size of the pot.
Protecting your hand: A check-raise can be used to protect an average or weak hand from hands which are possibly weaker but could improve in future streets.
A check-raise is considered an aggressive tactic and can be a very effective but risky move in poker.
