Connector
In poker, the term “connector” is usually used to refer to a series of consecutive cards which have the potential to form a straight. For example, if you have 5-6 in your hand, and 7-8-K are on the table, you have a “connector” or a “straight draw”, because you need one card (a 4 or a 9) to get a straight.
Cards in a connector are often valued more highly than unconnected cards, as they offer more possibilities to form winning hands. It’s worth remembering, however, that the success of a strategy using connectors depends on a number of factors, including your opponents’ style of play, your position at the table, and the size of the bets.
