Fold
A “fold” in poker means discarding your cards and no longer participating in the current round. When a player folds, they lose the chips they have already added to the pot and no longer have the right to win the pot in the current round.
A fold is one of the three main actions in poker, along with checking and betting. Players may choose to fold if they deem their hand to be too weak to continue playing or if their opponents’ stakes are too high as compared to the potential winnings.
Deciding whether to fold depends on the strength of your hand, your opponents’ actions, the size of the pot, and your position at the table. Choosing to fold at the right time could save you money and protect you from big losses.
