Inside Straight Draw
Having an “inside straight” in poker means that you have four cards for a straight (consecutive cards), but you’re missing one card in the middle to complete your hand. In other words, you have a “hole” in your consecutive cards.
For example, if your hole cards in Texas hold ‘em are a 4 and a 6, and a 5 and a 7 are on the table, you have an “inside straight”. To complete the straight, you need a card with the value of 3 or 8.
An inside straight has the potential to become a strong hand if you get the missing card on the next betting round (on the turn or the river). It’s important to think about how you can improve your hand and decide whether it’s worth continuing to participate in the round, bearing in mind your inside straight and the size of the current stakes.
