River
In poker, the term “last card” may refer to the last card dealt onto the community board in types of poker such as Texas hold ‘em or Omaha hold ‘em. This card is also known as the “river”.
In Texas hold ‘em and Omaha hold ‘em, the hand is made up of four betting rounds:
Preflop: Players receive their hole cards.
Flop: Three community cards are dealt onto the board.
Turn: The fourth community card is dealt onto the board.
River: The fifth and final community card is dealt onto the board.
After the river is dealt, the final betting round begins. If two or more players remain at the end of this round, a showdown occurs to determine the winner of the round.
