Top Triplet
The term “top triplet” in poker refers to a situation where a player has three cards of the same rank in their poker hand, and these cards are the highest-ranking three cards in a given combination on the table.
To understand this better, let’s take a look at an example:
Imagine the following cards are on the table:
The king of hearts (K♥)
The king of spades (K♠)
The king of clubs (K♣)
The ten of hearts (10♥)
The jack of diamonds (J♦)
If the player has another king in their hand (for example, the king of diamonds - K♦), they have a “top triplet of kings”. This is because three king cards (K♥, K♠, K♣) are the highest-ranking cards on the table, and they form a triplet (three cards of the same rank) among the community cards.
