A technical knockout (TKO) is a decision made in boxing, mixed martial arts, and some other martial arts according to which a fight is stopped by a referee or doctor due to the fact that one of the participants cannot safely continue fighting but is not knocked out (i.e., they haven’t lost consciousness).
